Signs You May Need CV Axle Service

Why a Torn Boot Matters
The rubber boot keeps grease packed into the joint and keeps road grit out. A small tear that is caught quickly is an inexpensive boot replacement. The same tear left alone lets the joint lose its grease and grind itself out, turning it into a full axle replacement.

Is it safe to drive with a clicking CV joint? For short distances and a short time, usually. But a failing outer joint can eventually seize or come apart, which can leave you stranded or affect control of the car. It is best to have it replaced soon after the clicking starts.
Do I need to replace both axles at once? Not necessarily. If only one axle is worn or has a torn boot, we replace that one and tell you the condition of the other side so you can plan ahead.
