Fuel System & Fuel Injection Service in Albuquerque, NM

Hard starts, hesitation, and a rough idle often trace back to the fuel system — the injectors, the pump, the filter, or carbon buildup on the intake.

The fuel system has to deliver the right amount of clean fuel at the right pressure, every time. When it does not, you feel it as stumbling, stalling, or a drop in fuel economy. We diagnose and service fuel systems for drivers throughout Albuquerque and the surrounding area, including Rio Rancho, Corrales, and Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. We measure fuel pressure and volume directly rather than guessing.

What's Included

  • Fuel pressure and fuel pump volume testing
  • Fuel injector testing, cleaning, and replacement
  • Fuel filter replacement where serviceable
  • Throttle body and intake (induction) cleaning
  • Diagnosis of fuel-trim and lean or rich trouble codes

Signs You May Need Fuel System Service

Long crank times before the engine catches, stalling at idle, hesitation or a flat spot on acceleration, a rough idle, a strong smell of fuel, or reduced fuel economy. Our guide to poor gas mileage and warning light guide cover related causes.

Direct Injection and Carbon Buildup

Many newer engines use direct injection, which tends to let carbon build up on the intake valves over time. That restricts airflow and dulls throttle response. Periodic induction cleaning keeps things where the factory intended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the fuel injector cleaning additives from the store work? A bottle of additive can help keep an already-healthy system clean, but it will not restore a clogged injector or fix a weak fuel pump. If you already have a symptom, it is worth having the system tested.

How do I know if it is the fuel pump or something else? We measure fuel pressure and volume directly and compare them to the manufacturer specification. A weak pump shows up clearly on that test instead of being replaced on a hunch.
